Our Villa Holiday To Sicily
November 14, 2019
For us boutique hotels, fine dining, beautiful beaches and wandering through small villages is the ideal holiday in Italy. This works well as a couple, however when travelling with family and little ones a villa is ideal. Last summer we decided to opt for our first family villa holiday. I say first family villa holiday, by this I mean since I was a child going on a summer holiday. As an extended family we are now after a holiday with a different set of criteria to meet – it was time to try a different type of holiday.
We found the beautiful Villa Tufo in Sicily. Always a fan of Italian cuisine and countryside, Italy is a place that ticks all the boxes as I have always been a fan of the Italian cuisine and countryside. It was a short flight to Sicily from London, perfect for travelling with a small child. We hired two cars and off we went to our home for the week.
The Villa Tufo is a beautiful eight bed property built with traditional Sicilian stone. Beautifully cool in the summer heat we were close to the coast and close to the local town. A spacious villa for eight people with air conditioning, it is a simple villa with nice kitchen and living area, outside dining area, private swimming pool and parking.
Ideally located and convenient to get to the shops and a local restaurant we went with grandparents, siblings and one little one, a villa is a relaxed way to spend a week. With enough space to have time together and apart, breaks for siestas and also those looking to do a little work, it is exceptionally easy to have lazy mornings but also to venture out.
The Villa Tufo is located near Marsala, a picturesque coastal town on the west coast of Sicily, which offers a picturesque port and lovely beach. With a historic centre and archeological museum, there is plenty to do and many sites to see if you wanted more than a seaside lunch and a day trip when exploring this beautiful island.
One of the best things about a villa is that you have a home away from home, whether you are looking to relax in the evenings on the terrace with a bottle of local wine, watch films or dine out, you can choose. It works perfectly with families who want more space and the privacy of a villa with peace and quiet. For those not wanting to stay in a hotel it can be the ideal solution.
