Home to some of the most exclusive chalets and resorts in the Alps, Switzerland is a country that many dream of skiing in. With the Swiss Alps meeting the French, Austrian and Italian they are wonderfully scenic and each resort is charming in its own right. Served by both Geneva and Zurich airports, thousands of keen skiers and snowboarders visit each year in search of some of the best skiing found anywhere on the planet.
We have selected just two resorts in Switzerland to offer to our guests, but they are in our opinion, the very best two that provide everything that you could want for from your ski holiday. Zermatt, part of the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise, is one of the most snow-sure and beautifully iconic resorts in the world and Verbier is part of the incredible 4 Valleys with over 410 kilometres of slopes to explore.
Verbier is home to a lively atmosphere, with plentiful bars to enjoy, there are highlights which include Farinet and Pub Mont Fort amongst others. Alongside plenty of après ski hotspots and nightlife options there are divine restaurants to enjoy with Chez Dany set in a stunning location on the mountain, serving traditional Swiss cuisine with inventive twists, whilst Le Table d’Adrien offers Italian accents throughout its Swiss menu and affords michelin star status.
Zermatt equally offers plenty of fun to be had and many a bar to while away a few hours in with the likes of Hennu Stall set on the mountain and Papperla Pub and Snowboat in resort. Culinary treats aplenty can be found in Zermatt; restaurant Findlerhof is a true mountain delight with refined Swiss cuisine drawing on its neighbouring Italian influence, complete with rustic charm and uninterrupted Matterhorn views.
Zermatt and Verbier not only offer impressive skiing, snow-security, dining opportunities, options for non-skiers or après ski and nightlife, but they have an incredible range of truly luxurious chalets to rival any in the world. With some inspirational chalets such as the truly incredible ski-in/ski-out chalet Makini in Verbier, a supreme private lodge with impeccable interiors filled with contemporary art, spectacular living spaces, gym, and spa with private swimming pool, sauna, hammam and hot-tub. In Zermatt many see the chalet Grace as setting the bar for the ultimate luxury retreat, winning praise and accolade often with 500 square metres of living space, private cinema, Matterhorn views, spa and relaxation facilities and flawless catering and service.
