Mount. Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain, the highest freestanding mountain on the planet, is a sight to behold. Arusha is the gateway to many of Tanzania’s finest safaris with the Serengeti located west of Arusha, the Great Rift Valley within reach also, and to the northeast the mighty Mount. Kilimanjaro.
Mount. Kilimanjaro and Arusha are located in the northeast section of Tanzania, lying close to the border with Kenya in the north. Rising to the dizzying height of 5,895 metres, Kilimanjaro is not to be taken on lightly, proper preparation, a good level of fitness and the understanding that this isn’t a sunday afternoon walk but a trek of approximately seven days are always important to keep in mind.
Arusha is the perfect stopping off point pre- or post- summit attempt of Kilimanjaro, what better way to relax than in luxurious surroundings and onwards to the great plains and spectacles of the Serengeti with safari experience and adventure to be discovered!
