The Lion Camp in Zambia’s Luangwa Valley is an excellent camp for those looking for a safari holiday with a difference. The Luangwa Valley is teeming with wildlife and has thriving populations of lions, leopards, buffalo and giraffes within close proximity to the Lion Camp. There are also hippopotamuses, elephants and antelopes commonly found in the area. The Luangwa River provides life to the Luangwa Valley and meanders through the valley. The Lion Camp is situated at an oxbow of lagoons at the top of the Lion Plains area and consequently it is one of the best spots for wildlife viewing. The Lion Camp was first established in the 1960s and whilst retaining authentic charm and a highly enviable location it has been renovated and reinvented as a luxury safari camp. There are 10 luxury suites at the Lion Camp. Each of these has incredible views of the African wilderness really maximising the stunning panorama views. Built on stilts the tents have a rustic yet luxurious feel with inviting soft furnishings, comfortable king-size beds, charming seating areas and en-suite facilities.

Guests who are conscious of their environmental impact will be pleased to hear that sustainability is a key focus of the camp. The camp benefits from a self-sufficient energy supply and water purifying system.
