Belmond Eagle Island Lodge, Botswana
5* lodge
The Belmond Eagle Island Lodge can be found on a private island in the heart of the Okavango Delta. One of the most impressive camps in the area, set within a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Belmond Eagle Island Lodge is within the wetlands of the Okavango Delta which is one of the best areas for game viewing in Africa.
The Lodge is made up of 12 luxurious tented rooms which perfectly balance traditional safari styling with indulgent touches. The tents are a welcome sanctuary from the midday heat and each has the luxury of air-conditioned living space, a private plunge pool and a furnished deck, perfect for private game viewing.
Belmond Eagle Island Lodge is best visited when the Okavango Delta is in season. It is abundant with wildlife between the months of May and October. There is plenty to see and experience outside of these months though. During peak season there are numerous game spotting activities included within your stay. These include morning and evening game drives as well as a first light Mokoro canoe adventure, a once in a lifetime experience as you watch the plains of Botswana come alive. The Mokoro canoe safari is the signature experience of the Okavango Delta where safari enthusiasts glide through the mazed waterways spotting wildlife.
Other safari options available at the Belmond Eagle Island Lodge include walking safaris, motorised boating, barge cruising and bird watching. When staying at the lodge guests can also fish, visit a nearby village or simply relax by the pool in the afternoon sun. The lodge is offered on a full board basis including meals and drinks from your morning coffee and light lunches to sundowners before dinner at the Fish Eagle Bar.
