The Sanctuary Chief’s Camp is located within the Okavango Delta. It is a beautiful camp over the water that is frequently praised for offering a combination of luxurious accommodation and a world-class setting. The former royal hunting reserve of Chief Moremi, the Sanctuary Chief’s Camp provides one of the best safari experiences across all of Africa, surrounded by wildlife with the opportunity to see the Big Five as well as with many bird spotting opportunities. The camp has a relaxing atmosphere with indoor and outdoor living areas, an outdoor fire pit to enjoy in the evenings overlooking the water, as well as a swimming pool with sun loungers, it is the perfect way to spend an afternoon or time between safari experiences. The bush pavilions are finished in dark wood and are spacious with air conditioning and floor to ceiling windows as well as outdoor showers and furnished decks where guests can relax and look out for the local wildlife.
The Geoffrey Kent Suite which was created in 2019 is spread over 620 square metres and sleeps up to six guests. The facilities include a kitchen, lounge, outdoor deck and a dedicated guide, chef, waiter and housekeeper, this is akin to having your own private safari lodge, perfect for seclusion. Throughout the Sanctuary Chief’s Camp the service is attentive and impeccable with delicious cuisine served daily.
The lodge is ideal for honeymooners and couples with privacy and luxury offered throughout. It is also excellent for families with children from six years and older, it is a perfect option as there is a dedicated children’s retreat area. Here children can learn from the guides about the wildlife and fun facts as well as meeting plants and insects and relaxing or playing a game of foosball or on the PlayStation. Guests stay on a full board basis including all meals, local drinks and two safari activities per day.
