May 6, 2021
Travel for 2022 is set to be amazing, with so many guests itching to get away (including us) we have made a month by month guide for the best places to visit throughout 2022. From the snowy Alps for your next ski holiday to the Greek beaches for your next family holiday, or an adventurous safari honeymoon, there is so much to look forward to.
January:
With Christmas and New Year over it is time to escape the weather in the UK and find some sun. There is no better place than Barbados. With warm temperatures and long sunny days it is the best time to visit this beautiful Caribbean island. If you are looking for a luxurious break, try the Fairmont Royal Pavilion. Alternatively for an all-inclusive holiday with everything included from premium spirits to scuba diving, head to the Sandal Royal Barbados.
February:
A wonderful time to go on holiday. It is the perfect time for something to look forward to and during the shortest month of the year we would choose to travel to South Africa. With direct flights to Cape Town and Johannesburg from London Heathrow, a one hour time difference and arriving in the Southern Hemisphere’s summer months it is a wonderful time of year to visit. Whether you are interested in visiting the vineyards in Franschhoek and staying at the La Residence or you want to drive along the Garden Route and see the penguins found at Boulders Beach there is so much to explore.
For a luxurious safari break head north-east and stay at the &Beyond Ngala Safari Lodge for the ultimate safari experience. Here you can see the beauty of the famous Kruger National Park and indulge with spa treatments and fine dining, not to mention the spectacular views and wildlife on offer.
March:
One of the best months to head to the ski slopes for your ski holiday and we have chosen the French Alps to visit. Spring skiing in the Alps is ideal, longer days, warm sunny afternoons, hopefully lots of fresh snow. Resorts such as Méribel and Val d’Isère are at their prime. Whether you are looking for a family trip and to stay in a sole use chalet such as the Kilco Penthouse which is just 100 metres from the ski school meeting point and slopes, or a group ski trip and looking for a fun chalet with hot-tub and extra facilities, such as the Mont Tremblant, you will be spoilt for choice.
April:
There is one place that comes to mind for a holiday in April and that is the Seychelles. It is the best time of year to make the most of the spectacular weather. The Seychelles is an incredible destination, the main island, Mahé, offers a selection of inspiring hotels such as the Anantara Maia Seychelles Villa Resort arguably one of the most luxurious all-inclusive hotels in the world. Alternatively head to somewhere such as Denis Private Island and experience all that the Seychelles has to offer.
May:
Now we can choose a destination closer to home. As the weather in Europe gets warmer, short-haul holidays are more enticing. The weather in Greece in May is beautiful. It is not too hot, but the bright sunshine is appealing. It is an excellent time of year to get away before the busy summer season starts. During May we would recommend going to some fantastic resorts in the Halkidiki area of Greece such as Ikos Oceania or Sani Beach. Offering excellent food as well as family-friendly resorts it is the perfect destination for a May holiday.
June:
During this lovely month when the weather starts to get warmer at home we love to head to Italy. Whether you are looking for authentic food, the rolling hills of Tuscany, the vineyards of Puglia or the beaches of Lecce, Italy offers it all. Italian villas are an excellent choice when visiting this beautiful country. Whether you are a family of four wanting to stay at the Villa Golden Sands in a beachfront location in Sicily, or a group suited to the incredible yet rustic Villa Dei Vigneti in Tuscany, there is something for everyone.
July:
An incredible time to explore further afield whilst the rest of the UK is heading to the Mediterranean for their summer holiday. Namibia is an amazing country that is one of the safest destinations in Africa to visit. The summer months offer excellent weather and it is a fantastic time for safari. Here you can discover the Etosha National Park and enjoy a world-class safari experience, the park is thriving during the summer months and you can see plenty of wildlife. Alternatively travel to the south for the Sossusvlei or west to the Skeleton Coast and explore the sand dunes and incredible coastline.
August:
Whether you are looking to fly or drive, France is so versatile for a holiday in August. Visit the south of France and stay on the Côte d’Azur at the Hôtel Les Roches Rouges or at one of our many beautiful villas. Here you can explore the coastline, sample the wonderful fresh seafood and enjoy the weather and beautiful beaches. During August when the weather is hot it is also a wonderful time to visit the Alps. The mountains and lakes are spectacular in the summer months and resorts such as Morzine are great to visit at this time of year.
September:
A really popular time of year to get away, especially with couples and adults looking to make the most of the last of the summer sun. In September we recommend visiting Spain and the Balearic Islands such as Majorca. The weather is still beautiful, the evenings are long and it is ideal for making the most of the warm Mediterranean waters and long summer.
Boutique hotels such as the Son Brull Hotel & Spa provide the perfect retreat. A charming hotel built into the hillside it offers fantastic local dishes such as paella and this property is an excellent place to relax and hide away or to use as a base to explore the gorgeous island of Majorca.
October:
The nights are starting to draw in and the weather is getting cooler. During early October the Greek islands are still enjoying the last of the summer sun. Islands such as Mykonos are ideal for visiting before the cooler weather and rain settles in. There are some excellent hotels such as the Bill&Coo Suites and the Myconian Korali. They offer fine dining and luxurious surroundings yet are still within walking distance of local attractions such as the famous windmills of Mykonos.
November:
Towards the end of the year the Indian Ocean is one of the most popular and best destinations to head to. The island of Mauritius is excellent for winter sun. November is dry and the temperatures are warm, it is a wonderful time of year to visit. This island offers so much, from volcanic hikes to cycling around the local resorts, visiting local markets or simply relaxing in your chosen hotel and enjoying the beautiful beaches. One resort which makes for a truly relaxing holiday is the LUX* Grand Gaube, this modern yet chic resort is an incredible place to spend your winter holiday. Alternatively if you are looking for an all-inclusive family-friendly hotel head to the Club Med La Plantation d’Albion.
December:
As the year draws to a close with short days and long nights many guests think of heading away for their Christmas or New Year holiday. For us this is the time of year to head to paradise, a picture postcard beach with turquoise waters and sunny weather is exactly where we want to be. For December we have chosen the Maldives, one of the most desired yet surprisingly accessible holiday destinations. The weather in December is wonderfully warm, the seas are crystal-clear and it is the perfect time of year to visit.
The Conrad at Rangali Island is an outstanding resort and not one to miss. Consisting of two islands joined together, one suited to couples and one for families, it offers so much more than you might wish for. With all manner of activities to choose from, including tennis, scuba diving, dolphin trips and yoga you will be spoilt for choice. This incredible resort provides beautiful accommodation with private swimming pools and beach access as well as a number of superb restaurants.
